Instagram, Mumbai
An Instagram marketing agency in Mumbai that treats DMs as sales
Reels for reach, carousels for explaining, stories for the day-to-day, and somebody answering the messages before the enquiry goes cold. Most Instagram sales now start in a DM and end there too.
Formats
Four formats, four different jobs
Using one format for everything is why most business accounts plateau.
Reels
Reach. This is the only format that still regularly puts you in front of people who have never heard of you, which makes it the growth engine. Built for sound-off viewing, with the hook in the first second.
Carousels
Explaining. Multiple slides earn more time on the post, and time is what the algorithm rewards. Right for anything that needs a before and after, a process, or a comparison.
Stories
Familiarity. Seen mostly by people who already follow you, so this is where a brand becomes a business you feel you know. Polls and question stickers are also the cheapest customer research available.
Static posts
The grid. Still what a prospective customer scrolls when deciding whether you are real. Not a growth tool any more, but the first impression when someone checks you out.
The DM
The part most agencies quietly leave out
A large share of Instagram enquiries now arrive as a direct message. An unanswered one is not a missed engagement, it is a lost sale.
What we do with them
- Replies inside business hours, not weekly
- Real enquiries passed to you immediately
- Common questions answered on the spot
- Saved replies for the repeated ones
- Comments answered too, because they are read by everyone
What usually happens instead
- Posts scheduled, inbox ignored
- Enquiries found in a weekly report, days late
- Comments left unanswered under every post
- The account looks busy and sells nothing
Measuring
Which Instagram numbers mean anything
Three of these predict business. The rest are for screenshots.
Saves and shares
The strongest signals on the platform. A save means it was useful; a share means somebody staked their own reputation on it.
Profile visits to follows
Tells you whether the content and the page agree. Lots of visits and few follows means the post promised something the profile did not deliver.
DMs and link taps
The closest thing Instagram has to an enquiry. This is the number that belongs at the top of a report.
Follower count is the number clients ask about and the one that predicts revenue least. An account of four thousand people who live in your catchment is worth more than forty thousand who do not.
FAQs
Instagram marketing: common questions
How often should a business post on Instagram?
Consistency beats volume. Three well-made posts a week, including at least one reel, outperforms daily recycled content. The schedule that matters more is stories, which suit most days because they are seen by people who already know you.
Do hashtags still work?
Far less than they did. Instagram now distributes mainly on what the content is about and how people respond to it. A handful of relevant hashtags does no harm; thirty does nothing and looks dated.
How many followers do I need before it works?
Fewer than you think, because reels reach non-followers. We have seen accounts under two thousand produce steady enquiries because the audience was local and the offer was clear.
Should I run ads on Instagram as well?
Once something is working organically, yes. Putting budget behind a post that already earned saves and shares is far cheaper than inventing an ad from nothing. Ad spend is billed by Meta and sits outside the agency fee.
Can you post in Hindi or Marathi?
Yes, and for a great many Mumbai audiences it performs better. Captions, on-screen text and voiceover all work in the language your customers actually use.
Who owns the account?
You do. It is set up in your name and stays with you if we stop working together.
Send us your account, we will tell you what is wrong with it
Honestly, and before you pay us anything. Most accounts have two or three fixable problems.
